Quote:The only intent is to strip-mine the labor and poison the land, air and water. Actually, that's not quite correct, IMO. The only intent is to maximize profit. The labor, the land, the air, and the water are merely collateral damage that they don't give a rat's ass about. The quoted intent would be a fairly good definition of evil; the latter is merely sociopathy. There's a big difference, although not necessarily in the final results.

I owe you a debt of gratitude Karl. I am quite certain most others do as well. Those issues don't mean much when the end result of the current trend is debt peonage.

KD wrote..I am attempting to change it from the focus on gay marriage and dope smoking The drug war creates its own indentured labor pool.. Obviously the slavery in Asia is a bigger problem on a bigger scale, but the drug war does get a lot of people killed or their freedom revoked. As for gay marriage, I'm with you. The time will come when both sides will wish they could take back the time they wasted on that "issue".

Genesis wrote..No firm can get away with this sort of practice in a nation where unalienable rights are respected, there is a rule of law, and there is redress available in the courts for environmental damage and slave-like conditions. Gee, that sounds like a wonderful place! Where is it? I'd like to emigrate.

Clearly, as I have been saying, all signs point to war. War is the only solution that has every worked in any of these situations. World war, Civil War, bottom line is there will be war. It is human nature and it will happen. Humans, as a herd, will deny everything until the last minute and then unknowingly herd towards war.

Oh, they'll knowingly move towards war. They'll do so under false pretense and nationalism. There will be a minority that espouse truth, but the corporate machine that Denninger is referring to will label them as "kooks" and "radicals." Part of the process we need to address is critical thinking skills. Without that important component, there is never a chance for true liberty, because there can never be a true individual.

Quote: Is the NWO something yet to be achieved, or are we now living in it? Beyond these thoughts lies tin, but the facts keep lining up. It might be tin that lies beyond these thoughts, but the tin is much further beyond them than it used to be. If someone had told you or me 10, 15, 20 years ago that we would be here, now, in this position, with things in their current state, we would have called them nuts and delegated their ramblings to "TIN." We seem to uncover something as truth, or reveal some plot or plan, or find something every day that is so outrageous and over the top crooked, dishonest, and downright evil that it makes the villains on the old Batman TV Show look like petty theives. And they all seem to be something that we would have called TIN just last week or last month. I am beginning to believe that, as far as many of these theories go, there is no TIN, and that those who have for so long been espousing them were just ahead of the curve. No, I'm not sure there is any such thing as TIN anymore. I think the alchemy of banks, the FED, .GOV, and the rest of them have turned TIN into something else. Unfortunately, while thinking they have turned it into gold, it is only paper they have created. And paper will burn. No, there's no TIN. But thank God there's still lead.

Quote:China will go the way of all other nations that use slave labour to 'grow' their economy: collapse. Given their past i dont see any way that China suddenly reforms politically and broadens the power base, ending slavery and transforming the economy. Just aint gonna happen. Nearly identical to the USofA in the midst of the Industrial Revolution circa 1880-1920. Why do you think we have labor unions? Yes, the political will must exist first to allow such a thing, but don't count out the Chinese or a potential future Chinese middle class. If anything the last 30 years should have told you is that the Chinese narrative is far from a paper tiger - they may be glacially slow moving, but they move inexorably. They have VAST sources of wealth - and who knows how much untapped domestic fossil fuels. Count them out at your peril.

This thing cuts both ways.
When Henry Ford produced the automobile, he wanted his workers to be able to buy what the company produced. Other industrialists were said to be upset with him.
Even though the workers were better paid by Ford, Eventually pay was decided through negotiation with a union. Pay us more or we strike.
Nothing occurs in a vacuum.
I didn't live during the Great Depression, but i have read comments that Roosevelt had "compulsory unionism".
We went from the extremes of the Roaring 20's, to the extremes of the Great Depression, to the extremes of a world war that destroyed great industrial capacity and upward of 50 million people. Extremes do not bring balance.
The owner of the Chicago White Sox apparently treated the players poorly. In 1919, they became known as the Chicago black sox. Gamblers paid them more than the owner did. Now we have players demanding 150 million dollars for a 5 year contract (fictitious number). In 1996, striking player prevented the World Series from being played. I have not stepped foot in a major league park since.
Where is the balance?
The California Teachers union is preventing a law change in order to allow schools to get rid of bad teachers including child predators.
Where is the balance?
