Inflation is essentially antidemocratic. Democratic control is budgetary control. The government has but one source of revenue — taxes. No taxation is legal without parliamentary consent. But if the government has other sources of income it can free itself from their control. (Mises 1969, pp. 251–253)

I'm all in favor of just admitting we've been screwed and balancing our budget now by whatever means necessary.

So you're OK with paying billions to support fascism ? You want to be taxed 50%, 60% or more of your income to support the likes of Corzine, Dimon, Bernanke, public sector unions, bloated salaries and benefits of the public sector, as well as all the other total waste inherent in government spending ? Or how about unfunded SS, Medicare, Medicaid - you OK with being taxed > 100% of your income to support those ?

You have to understand that without major, major cuts in everything, no amount of taxes can fix the ****show that is federal and state spending.

I for one don't want to balance a budget that includes drones over the US, SWAT teams in every community, FEMA camps, TSA "security" theatre, so-called wars on anything, bailouts for banksters, unlimited "free trade" agreements that reduce our jobs to minimum wage service jobs, loss of freedom to consume any substance I want from cannabis to raw milk, etc etc. I say, let it ramp up and crash, because I don't see anything else that will stop the loss of freedom and unConstitutionality that would be enshrined in any budget put together by this CONgress.

Well then, if there are "no forced" treasury buys, which fool would buy our treasuries again?!? Might want to exam how oil is contracted and examine what happens to countries when countries try to make oil exchange in something other than US dollar? Otherwise are you saying that the US dollar is JUST SO AWESOME that it can FLOAT itself this long?

Amazing but pretty please Karl prove me wrong that the US dollar actually has merit beyond contract exchange which perhaps REQUIRES US treasury buy backs to push oil prices up beyond the actual value.

Something happening under the numbers... Please think outside of your wall street and bond market paradigm box. This sucker should have collapsed by now but it's not and it's killing you. smiley

You are paying for the US treasuries yourself every time you fill up at the pump.. It's the absolute ultimate SCREW. And the highway budget in your real estate taxes.. Getting it up the bung hole!

The Fed can put unlimited assets on the balance sheet. If they were not doing that already the revolt would already be showing.

If there is a revolt, it will probably not show up as interest rates on US debt.

Thus we are left with dollar valuation as being the prime suspect as being the trigger.

The European solution will be to print more money to "stimulate".

Which pretty much leaves gold as the primary beneficiary of government policies and as the primary escape vehicle for Western civilizations, for those wishing to retain wealth.

I wonder how much our federal taxes(the 'real money' they literally take from you and I) makes up of the federal budget. I doubt it even covers half of it all.

I see that we are approaching a time where people will have to ask themselves why they are afraid of the "authority" figures of this great Nation.

There is a common "phrase" of having a "problem" with authority. I think it's time we break that down, and realize that the authority that we have sanctioned is reaching towards a perilous path.

I am having a problem with our authority and the people who run this Nation.

If more people had a problem with authority, then we wouldn't have had the mass destruction we had in Germany during WWII.

Its simple really. Any objection is punishable by death. Every single one.

Oh you might get fined in the beginning but eventually that will lead to a warrent for your arrest. Then if you continue to object well the unions will kill you.

How nice that it is.
