There are many ways to combat voter fraud that don't require a photo ID.

Mail people a voter PIN number, or let them set a "secret question" for when they show up to vote.

Those are "what you have" and "what you know" factors, and subject to far less scope-creep than "who you are" being contained on an ID.

Multi-factor authentication would be nice, but there's a lot of cost in approaching both no false positives and no false negatives.

How do you REGISTER to vote without showing identification?

And having REGISTERED to vote and shown ID, why is it a burden to show the SAME ID to actually cast a ballot?

“The Government can’t give you any right, because it’s not theirs to give” ----- Genesis.

Many people will quote the Constitution as it gives them this right, or that right. But when you ask them to show you where it says that they just say “everybody knows that.”
It is all twisted around. The Constitution doesn’t give anybody the right to do anything. It clearly state’s that these rights are already yours, and the government can’t take them away. Nothing else. So when you need the governments permission to exercise a right that is already yours you have already been deprived of your rights.

How'd you prove who you were for that ID that you used to prove who you were when registering to vote? It's turtles all the way down.
