Bill Still,,,what's your email address at paypal?

People with a PayPal account can use the "send money" tab by entering your paypal email address....whole lot easier than that 20 step demo you just gave...

70,000 hits...why not ask people to send $1...

Get a Paypal Micropayments account and they'll take 5% + 5 cents per transaction...so, for a $1 donation, you get 90 cents.

Out of that 70k, I'm sure a whole lot would be willing to chip in a buck...

We bought his book and video...paid full price...and they're both well worth it.

If we could give more, we'd already have done so.

OK Still you got my donation. I don't agree with some of the conclusions you and Karl came to, but I respect your arguments and share your motivation.

Also, don't burn yourself out on this. Take a walk. Smell the roses. Plant some seeds--in your garden and also as ideas in the hearts and minds of your neighbors. Some of them will come around once the theoretical problems manifest as physical pain.

Oh and by the way Obama found the sweet spot for small donations to be $3.

Sorry Bill Still, but tonight I can't be turning off the Creedence playlist to watch this video yet. I've seen other good ones by you, and suffice to say I like the cut of your jib, but I hope you understand "philosopher" is not a paid profession in this day and age, being right doesn't do you a damn bit of good and you shouldn't expect it to. You will never be elected to any major office, so it should not be among your real goals. If Socrates thought being smart was actually going to get him somewhere in the material realm he was sadly mistaken, because it got him a tall goblet of hemlock. Most great men are unknown, it's safe to assume. Educate who you can, and live a humble life. To quote "Game of Thrones", winter is coming.. Intellect will not likely turn back this frost, so please don't plan for that to happen anytime soon.

(edit: Speaking to Karl too, obviously)

If he put up some sorry looking abused wide-eyed dog or cat, there would be $50,000 instantly. If he tries to save the country? Then excuses that "philosophy is supposed to be free" rule the day.

In case you were wondering what Bill's pay pal email is -- It's shown on his website when you get ready to buy something and it's on the video. - Just saying. Perhaps he does not want to get bombed with spam so that maybe why he did not post it directly on youtube.

Bill is discovering the same issue 21st musicians face, how to monetize your intellectual output in the age of digital duplication.

oh, and what Morla said. Nobody runs as a Libertarian candidate as anything other than a soapbox lark, with the expectation that you will be self funding your efforts to be heard. Bill may be insightful, and smart, but he will never be an elected politician.

I'm not talking about him asking for donations or selling a book, I'm talking about the overall path he and Karl are on. Trying to save the world by educating doesn't get anyone to "the top" because the world can only be saved from the bottom. I hadn't even watched the video at the time I posted, if I came across as arguing against donations that was unintentional.

(edit)I'm not sure he should even want to be an elected politician. He might do more good by running and losing, drawing attention to the broken political system itself. It's time humans learned that showing up to a voting booth every year or two isn't gonna do the trick.. All I can think of is to try and set off some kind of "revolution of sanity" by educating those willing to listen and hoping for a chain reaction. (edit2)The internet and technology allow for education on an unprecedented scale, unfortunately they also lead to public distraction on an unprecedented scale.. The Market Ticker is on the good edge of that double-edged sword :P
