And then there is doing business with the server farms and ISPs that will delete any traces of journalism blogs off the net at the drop of a foreign judge's hat.
I bet Karl has this one beat big time, but I suspect he is one of the few who do have their own servers etc.

Peter,

I know it's my fault. I think after reading through all the crap that was mailed to me about the Wachovia takeover of Southtrust, I didn't have the patience to sit through the same crap from Wells Fargo. Wachovia changed nothing about my Southtrust account at all so in skimming through the Wells mailers I made the mistaken assumption that my account setup would remain as it had been. But now I know, and no it is not even worth my effort to fight for that $25 and I'm sure they keep those considerations in their minds when making little changes to people's accounts. But, the goods news is that kind of attitude is going to cost them customers in droves.

Winston: ISPs and other sites like this one are not common carriers, have never been common carriers, and do not want to be common carriers.

Understanding what you are is rather important to operating any successful business.

Captain Obvious here: The article about ML Implode/Wells that is linked in the Ticker originated from ML Implode.

Questions:

1. By "affiliate", what exactly do they mean?
2. The article states: "... leaving a short-term advance of $1500 from an affiliate un-covered and a similar $1500 obligation to another affiliate unpaid." Who are the "affiliates"? Is it possible that Wells might have had an issue with one or both of the affiliates"?
3. Ever consider that IEHI's prior choice of "affiliates" (read: Green Credit Solutions/Curt Melone/Christopher Fox) might raise any questions at all regarding IEHI's business dealings?

Considering ML-Implode's prior "affiliation" with Green Credit Solutions (and Curt Melone, Christopher Fox, et al), I'm shocked that the California AG's office hasn't issued a subpoena of banking records (which incidentally, would provoke a freeze).

I'm not sayin'...

I'm just sayin'.

What we need is a database listing companies (Large, Regional, Internet, etc) and which TBTF bank they do business with. I would not be suprised to see most have accounts with all of them on some level. Maybe then people would see how they have us wrapped up like a spider wraps his next meal.

Regarding ML-Implode response to this blog:

"we got absorbed into Wells Fargo through Wachovia merger...."

That merger happened in 2008. The "we were leaving" argument....dead in the water. ****ing lazy ass blogger....you get what you deserve.

I had an account at South Trust. Wachovia bought South Trust. I kept the account through 2008 to taunt them when I went in to access my safe deposit box by telling them how much I was making shorting their stock.

After they got "eaten" I moved my account to the local credit union.

That was in 2009, I believe.

It sure as hell was a long time ago. Like three years ago.

Stick with Wells?

Uh, no.

In 2008 I actually thought that social lending networks would arise out of all this **** as the new new banking, but to no avail.

Given my circumstances, it is exceptionally inconvenient to bank with somebody who does not offer national/international service.

Yeah I mean, the true competitors of tbtf banks are other tbtf banks. Are ANY of them getting any closer to doing the right thing? If so, rewarding them with your patronage would give then a competitive advantage which would in turn move the entire filed in the right direction. Lord knows we can't rely on those captured porn-watching mother****ers in the financial regulatory agencies.

This is exactly the problem...if activists, bloggers and discontented citizens cave in to big money...
we are doomed.

I was talking to someone the other day and she mentioned that she would like to change banks but
it was just too disruptive.

She didn't feel she had the time or inclination to spend an hour or two of her precious life to
quit doing business with the devil...

This is the exact reasoning why our banking industry is out of control...

Why aren't peeps banking with regional banks? I don't get it...

Yeah it was amusing. They had this "practice" at the time of insisting on trying to sell you something, whether it was investment services or whatever, EVERY TIME you came into the place and went to the front desk to ask for access to your box. My backup drives were in there so I was in the bank every week to rotate them out.

Well, I got tired of the "high pressure sales ****" and so I started announcing in a nice loud voice every time they ran the sales job exactly how much their stock was down over the last week or so and how many shares I was short, then doing the math (out loud again) on how much I had made being short. It went something like this....

"Hello Mr. Denninger could we interest you in an IRA today?"

"Why would I need an IRA? Your stock was $42 three months ago and (looking at my PDA) it's $22 today, and I happen to be short 5,000 shares. Let's see, 5,000 times $20, why that's $100 large I've made shorting your company into the dirt... what do I need an IRA for again?"

They got the hint and cut that **** out.

One concern about banking with a regional that has no branch where I reside, is to be able to make deposits. At Frost, and I'm sure others, you can make 'em using a scanner nowadays.

JStanley, use a credit union that is part of shared branching.

That's most of them.

Not sure what Steve Dibert at MFI Miami is trying to accomplish in this follow up blog article (which was written in retaliation to Wells Fargo closing ML-Implode's bank account) given that it tells the world what a sleaze bag Dibert is:

http://www.mfi-miami.com/2012/06/whistle....

While Steve might have chosen to place his customer's loans with companies based on how hot the reps were and whether they would blow him and give him booze and drugs, most reputable brokers selected lenders based on service, rates, and what was best for the borrower. I can assure you, what Steve describes in his article is not how most companies operated- it is how he operated.

Dibert reveals his total lack of character and ethics which is nothing short of bottom-of-the-barrel, gutter variety. Does he really expect to garner public trust and respect by telling everyone what a sell-out scum bag he is? Does he really think that at the end of the day, his article is going to soil the reputation of Wells Fargo worse than his own?

Now that we know what he is, all that is left to question is his price. This, of course, makes me wonder about the article he wrote a few years back removing Green Credit from his worst mod firm list after long talks with Martin Andelman. The article removing Green Credit was pure bunk and filled with inaccuracies which I quickly called to his attention.

Going back to Wells closure of ML-Implode's account, which disrupted affiliate transactions, I'd still like to know what they meant by "affiliate" and what those transactions were. I'm curious whether the "affiliates" and "affiliate transactions" might have more to do with the account closure than petty revenge over a "blog article".

All I can say is that Steve did a great job with the whole 'Pot calling the kettle black' thing.

Open mouth, insert foot:

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/richard-zo....

The decision to close the accounts of ML-Implode and others tied to the Rest Report (ML-Implode Affiliate) occurred around May 11, 2012 based on letters from Wells' Risk Operations and Fraud Prevention Services that were sent to all the parties on that date. Wells objects to the inference writers made that Wells closure of the accounts was retaliatory. While Wells cannot publicly release the reasons for the account closures, Wells did point out that the decision to close the account predated Mandelman's article about the homeowner that committed suicide.

It is interesting to note that one of the parties whose account was closed, Michael Nazaria of the Rest Report, is named in as a Defendant in a Class Action Suit filed in California related to a modification scam:

http://www.scefiling.org/filingdocs/1174....

In my research, the Rest Report does involve affiliate marketing, upfront fees, and loan modification services.

File this under things that make you go hmmmm.......

Gotta love ML Implode's attempt to diss Karl. The last post on ML Implode was made by Steve Dibert on July 4th in response to Karl's article on Wells closing ML Implode.'s account. It is still featured on the front page on ML-Implode (as of Tuesday, July 10th) because it was the last post to their forum.

Really? Only one post since July 4th on the ML Implode main forum, and they have the nerve to say Karl knows "nothing about banking"?

http://forum.ml-implode.com/viewtopic.ph....

I can't make this stuff up.

File this under 'Memba them?"...
