I suspect that the Martin case is incorrectly considered newsworthy because it is generally perceived that white against black violence is a thing of the past and is, therefore, unusual. Black against white violence is ignored because it is correctly perceived as being more common. But I note the truth of what some black comedians mention about the lack of reporting about missing or murdered black women and children vs the large amount of national coverage of missing or murdered white women and children.
I just ignore all of this "news" because it's not worth my time nor anyone else's with the exception of the individuals directly involved.

It really seems to me like every piece of information that comes out furthers the case for Zimmerman and makes the knee-jerk race-baiters who came out in droves early on look more and more like the true racists they are.

Actually, the most disturbing development in this case are the original witnesses suddenly flip flopping on their original statements. I.E. Zman was on top of Trayvon. the article is linked here in one of the forum posts.

The race baiting was in no way, shape, or form knee-jerk, it was deliberately reported that way, from the beginning, at the behest of the lawyer representing the parents of Trevon. The real story is Obama and the complete lack of leadership. A real leader would unemotionally present the facts, whether it's political expedient or not and defuse the situation. Obama went in hiding on the issue, he stressed to wait for the facts to come out and then make a judgement... Instead we are going to have a show trial and silence on his part. This issue is not lost on the American people and he is going to have a hard time getting elected as this one issue crystalizes and confirms their suspicion that's he a dud.
The media on the other hand isn't interested in reporting facts, it's interested in making headlines. That's why Fox News always has Breaking News, as insignificant as it maybe. Which makes me wonder, how come nobody has asked Obama about the Trayvon case recently?

Yep, it's well known that eye witnesses are notoriously crappy in fact. I am pretty sure I read of one who said that Trayvon was on top but subsequently after watching the news more is sure that it must have been Zimmerman because he's bigger. Such a person's opinion is now entirely worthless.

But now comes the ultimate Adios, apparently Zimmerman’s Hispanic credentials have been officially revoked by the “Latino Alliance of Chicanos, Hispanics, Andeans, Nuyoricans, Central and Latin Americans” (LACHANCLA). This group pretty much has every Latino ethnicity and some covered. According to the group this is the first time anyone’s Latino credential have been erased.
Ouch, though I believe Mr. Zimmerman has more serious concerns like going to jail for a long time or being killed by vigilantes.
The group wants Zimmerman to admit to his wrong doing “By demonstrating he has no conscience, he cannot be considered a Latino,” says spokesperson Shawn Clota. But here's the reason for their dissing of Zimmerman at the end of the article: Quote:Regardless of all the down with George Zimmerman, where the Latino voice has not been silent is calling for the review of gun laws and ‘Stand Your Ground’ self-defense legislation. In America countless Latinos are injured and die by hand guns everyday. African-Americans and Latinos have the second highest rate of gun homicide rates and gun assaults.
Whether George Zimmerman is a Latino or not is irrelevant but guns are decidedly anti-Latino and their effectiveness in the community has long been revoked.

It's not particularly surprising.... I've said before that "witnesses" say things that conflict with the physical evidence all the time. When they do, the physical evidence wins and the job of the lawyers is to press into that and figure out if they were really "bending with the wind" or whether someone "got to them."

Gonna take a shot in the dark here, but probably the Rainbow Coalition/Black Panther Party/NAACP and every other race baiting organization reached out to the witnesses. No one wants to be a hero and die for Zimmerman.
It is a shame, because there is so much evidence showing his innocence.

Reasonable doubt would be all that's required to acquit Zimmerman in the criminal trial. The flip-flopping witnesses would merely add to reasonable doubt, in my totally un-legal opinion. However, such worthless witnesses wouldn't hurt - and might possibly help - any bull**** wrongful-death civil suit.

Stuff like this is why I could never be a progressive. Zimmerman is a good little progressive and progressives have been trying to lynch him for months now. Only evil groups eat their own.
Groups like La Raza are primarily propaganda organs for the democratic party to control Latinos votes. Given that they're their progressives first it's not surprising they would offer up one of their own to be sacrificed.

"Staying rather quiet" as in not being out front the way he was in the Gates situation in which he used the word "stupid" in reference to the cop's behavior and then later suggesting that Gates and the cop should come over and discuss things over a beer. Obama interjected himself into the situation that time.
