Nothing here that impresses me...

In the week ending May 12, the advance figure for  seasonally adjusted initial claims was 370,000, unchanged from the previous week's revised figure of 370,000. The 4-week moving average  was 375,000, a decrease of 4,750 from the previous week's revised average of  379,750.

Revised again eh? smiley

What's the big table tell us?

That "extended benefit" people are being kicked off.  Still.

Nothing here to see folks; employment is not getting better.

No safety net. No family farm to go back to. Social Security Disability can only absorb so many.
Crimes against property will go WAY up. Armed robbery some also.
We are seeing this in our suburban area already. Home invasions and theft from vehicles and garages. Theft from construction sites and anything metal even if bolted down.

I agree Bagbalm. We're seeing that in my area of FL already. Whoever is breaking into cars in my 'hood got a gun from one of the vehicles. Great...

UE is down to 23 weeks in FL now since the state no longer qualifies for federal extended benefits. Anyone who gets laid off now is going to have to scramble to find something and probably settle for making much less than his prior job.

I guess folks will pile into food stamps and start missing mortgage payments.
