When you get a Top Secret clearance part of your training is how you must avoid this kind of behavior. It's just BASIC security ops. NO ONE with clearance should be compromising themselves in this manner.

I am simply disgusted that she would stay with that man and not because he hired a prostitute or was unfaithful to his wife. People have their reasons for maintaining their marriages after infidelity, and I would never presume to judge. I saw the ***** on cable today. And she was doing what she does best. Pumping for the big bucks. They even named the SS Agent that she gave it up for. heh. She turned over just enough information to wet our lips. She said for the right price she'd describe her activities in bed with Agent Dummkopf. heh. Amen. You nailed it. If you're on the detail, you're probably carrying a TS/SCI and you're in some sort of personnel reliability program (or at least you should be). I cannot fathom how this many idiots were somehow missed unless USSS standards and safeguards have completely disintegrated. And that DOES start from the top. If the USSS director won't back his people when they***** off their principals for good reasons he needs to resign or be fired.

Sometimes the answer is NO. Tough luck, I'm not going to let you accept some particular risk, even if you want to. Sir. I'll try to forge a mutually acceptable compromise, but a dumb risk is a dumb risk and you're going to get my people killed for your photo op. Screw that, get in the damn car. Sir.

From the news pictures I've seen of routine POTUS movements I don't have any reason to believe that there are a disproportionate number of "brothers" (from a different post), but even if there were if they meet the same (allegedly) rigorous requirements any other detail member meets, I don't care. If POTUS has a good rapport with his detail things go a lot smoother.

Besides, there are tier 1 military units that ARE disproportionately minority, and they're Major League Doorkickers that are smart as hell, meaner than Satan, can shoot anything they can see and some things they can't, and will run you over like a freight train. Call them a "brother" to their face with the implication that they got the job on anything but merit and I'll measure your life expectancy with a stopwatch. From a distance, making sure nobody thinks I'm with you.

Back to the original point, it's standards of professional conduct that have shockingly failed, the human weakness of the agents followed naturally. I'm not voing for Obama, but endangering ANY POTUS like this is an unforgivable sin. Clean out senior management, clean out the detail, clean out anybody responsible for maintaining or monitoring professional training or conduct and reboot the whole damn agency.

Anyone can be bought off at any time IF THERE IS NO CONSEQUENCE WHICH SERVES AS AN APPROPRIATE DETERRANT. This includes the SS, the TSA, "our" Congressfolk, you name it.

IF the consequence for a member of the SS to be doing what was done included ball cutting, one small sliver of skin and tissue at a time with a dull knife and without anaesthesia, not just "paid administrative leave," I would bet the ranch that this wouldn't have happened.

Same thing with TSA employees. Caught stealing iPads? Caught planting bombs in baggage? Caught trafficing drugs? Caught doing online child porn? Balls (or*****, or ...) off. No anaeshesia. Period.

The whole system is a joke. And one for which the taxpayer is paying.

Um, it's not rocket science...bringing a hooker into your room is no different than going to the public beach in Rio. Keep on your person only whatever clothing, accessories and as much cash as you need, and be ready to lose all of it.

Even if you're plastered, puking, and passing out (ESPECIALLY THEN) you should always stick to these rules.

I've traveled a lot and it astounds me that SS don't even get (or care about) some of these basic rules (let alone the contract rules about paying for your hookers!) They sound like utter idiots, to be honest - and therefore deserve whatever they get.
