Rbarreira Posts: 2826 Incept: 2009-05-27 Portugal -> Sweden	I find these "from China" / "from Europe" / "from wherever" statements rather useless, especially when in the context of DDOS attacks and hack attempts. Just because you can trace the country of the IP attacking you doesn't mean the attacker is really there. More often than not, the attacks go through PCs infected with rootkits that became part of a botnet. The PCs that are most likely to get commandeered in this way are ones running old, non-updated versions of MS Windows, that is, computers in countries where piracy is rampant. This is one of the biggest reasons why lots of spam and DDOS attacks come from countries like China, for example. The people actually writing and profiting from the spam and hacks are all over the globe... ---------- In Soviet Russia, the government regulates the banks. Here ppl are too much ignorant and self indulgent to get hand on that. When Karl writes many attacks come from "India", I feel like ppl are probably more intelligent than what I perceive.
