CNN Video Clip wrote..He's [OBozo's] in charge of the economy NO, HE'S NOT.Knock off that ****. The President is not (nor should he be) an omnipotent dictator, and he (or she, as the case may be) is not supposed to have significant power over the economy. The fact that people give credit (or blame) to the President for our economy, and look to him and his minions to "solve" economic issues is exactly what's ****ed up about our culture and political system. It's a big part of how we got here, folks.

There has been a long history in the Whitehouse as the president leave and the new president moves into the Whitehouse. The leaving president leave a letter to welcome the new president to the white house and also leaves an additional two sealed envelopes. The first envelope says open during your first big crises and the second one say open when you have your second big crises.
Inside envelop one has the following message:
“Blame the prior president you inherited this crises”
Inside the second envelop has the follow message:
“You are the president you are the only one to blame”
It is oblivious that TOTUS has lost the second envelop.

I have no doubt whatsoever that the bad things happening under his watch like gov't employees cavorting with *****s, soldiers posing with corpses, gov't agencies wasting taxpayer money (OMG!), etc., etc., etc., happen ALL of the time. But isn't it simply amazing that they are being exposed with such rapidity in an election year giving the impression that his administration is exceptionally corrupt, just as the unusually adjacent cluster of extremely common wildlife kills gave, to the scientifically ignorant, the impression that something out of the ordinary was happening ("It's the end times!").
The govt is literally FILLED with crooks and this only goes to show that there is no honor among thieves. They will expose each other ONLY when it's in their political interest to do so.
Move along, nothing to see here...

That guy didn't turn on Obama, all he did was read what was on the teleprompter. He simply said the things TPTB think will lay the groundwork for getting people to accept Obama's next power grab. I think that is what was behind the useless CBS "expose" on Lehman on 60 Minutes on Sunday, too.

I don't typically like CNN but that was a fair analysis.
I've always compared POTUS to an NFL coach. Fans will let you slide for a year or two with the excuse that it takes time to get your guys and your system in place. If you still aren't winning at year 4 and are still blaming the previous coach, most people will say it's time for a change at the top.
Well, it's year 4 and we still ain't winning.

George Will said it best. The budget needs to be balanced by raising the unemployment rate, by getting rid of the vast majority of Federal government bureaucrats. How big can the FSA be? 100 million into 1 trillion is 10,000. If the FSA is 50 million, that is $20,000 or the same as having a $10 an hour job full time. 25 million? $40,000. We are talking about the deficit, not the total spending here.
It is hard to talk about Bush without talking about Clinton. The tech bubble was bigger than the housing bubble. We are 12 years from the top of that bubble and the Nasdaq has made back 50% of its peak losses. This with a bunch of manipulation as well. We are still missing $3 trillion of that bursted bubble. Most of us uber bears didn't think we would get out of that one, but Greenie and Franklin Raines came in to save the day with the home equity hocking machine.
What Socialists call austerity is nothing more than allowing government bubbles to deflate. These bubble are deemed good for the economy, but in reality, they can't be sustained. Any bubble that can't be sustained will eventually burst. Military is a bubble, the FSA is a bubble, solar energy is a bubble and capital goods through government subsidies is a bubble. In the meantime, the resources are down the toilet.
I think the Democrats would do well to pass this bomb bag to the Republicans. The Republicans only know the banker created nonsense economics that the Democrats know and they generally walk in on a disaster. I don't know what Romney would do, but I would bet it would be an attempt to blow another socialist bubble. Giving business tax incentives to dump money down the drain is just as socialist as heading the FSA.

All Obama had to do was follow his initial instincts by firing Geithner and taking down the banks. Somehow, Geithner put the fear of god into him.
Obama had the opportunity to be heralded as the greatest since Andrew Jackson. He blew it.

Tm22721, I think you are right. Given the very strong public support for change, I believe that Obama was uniquely situated to effect change, real change in the U.S. financial system. It is this potential that renders his failure so epic. If today, Obama has an enemy, it is himself - the image that he presented in '08, an image he has not lived up to. Some suggest he was a bankster sycophant from the get-go. I tend to believe that he "trusted in experts" as well as wanting to ingratiate his buddies (donors) on the Street and basically was led, rather than being in the lead. In short, Obama lacked the maturity or vigor to effect real change. I truly wish that he had had a primary contender to deal with because financial issues would have gotten an airing and he may have become less of a bankster sycophant.

American news networks are just "opiates for the masses". Most all of them are oligarchy stagecraft designed to make American citizens feel like they have some sort of a voice for their concerns. But in the end, REGARDLESS of what these networks broadcast, the oligarchy and government just go right on ahead doing what they do.
People are*****ed off... and by turning on Fox or MSNBC or whatever (depending on your viewpoint), people think "oh, well THERE is someone in the public arena who is voicing my concerns", which prevents them from feeling disenfranchised. But in reality, the viewpoints never get past the talking points.

Yep.
Look at what happened with the Tet Offensive. The media almost-singlehandedly ended our involvement in the war, and we won after they attacked.
The NVA got their ASS KICKED. On any objective measure you care to use they not only lost they got creamed.
Nonetheless, WE LITERALLY WALKED OFF after we WON and ceded the war!

If people want to blame Obama for hurricanes & snowstorms I'm fine with that, but what they really ought to be angry about is that he is/was on the exact opposite side of what's right on every major constitutional issue that has faced the Supreme Court during his term:
Obamacare Citizens United (where his solicitor general actually argued that they had a right to ban books that took a political position). McDonald v Chicago - which upheld the right of The People to keep & bear arms. Arizona's SB 1070 law where they're merely taking action to enforce federal law.
He can argue that the court is "right-wing", but the truth is that the court is centrist and Obama is out-to-lunch loony left.

okay we see this coverage now... but what about September October and November? They have to at least appear to be balanced. Better to do the dirt now than right before the election.
