So we've established that Americans are a bunch of sadomasochistic retards that absolutely love getting ****ed up the ass. We all get that.

What has to be done to change the culture so that systemic changes can be made to actually fix the problems?

A super depression might help, but I don't have any control of that.

Karl, why don't you run for the LP ticket? I don't want to hear about the unelectability business as that just comes off as an excuse.

JFedek is right. It won't change until something breaks loose . the best chance we had was back in 2008. If Paulson and Bernanke had really shutdown. the Financial system as they Congress in Sept. 2008, it might have jolted the the J6P into an alert state to get the changes through the political system. political

Not intending to speak for our host here..... but at the very least MR and MRS American Idol / Dancing with the Stars certainly couldn't handle all of his previous documented online references of Ocular Penetration, Skull-****ing and Squicking (spelling?)

...just my guess here though....

your macro may well be one of the best overviews yet. "hardwired" is a pretty good description too, or as arnold once said, "I cannot self-terminate".

TF thinks the country system will self destruct. I don't think so anymore. Instead I feel like we are on a slow path to an actual Orwell's 1984 scenario. We already can see it in this joke of a stock market.

We will see how consensual this screwing is when we see how many of the AGs are re-elected after signing on.

Eagle--I am beginning to agree with you.

I actually just don't think the majority of Americans are actually smart enough to figure out that they are being looted. I seriously don't--I've tried talking to an enormous number of them and all I get are blank stares or the "I don't know anything about finance/economics/fill in the blank". I do believe it will seriously take a massive event to get structural change and I'm not all that certain that the change we'll get will be for the better.

Last note: there are too many leeches on the system as it is now that dollar for dollar matching to donations will work with campaigns. I'm not sure the system is savable at this point.

It is quite amazing how the market tends to do the unthinkable at *very* important points. Ie... From a technical standpoint, had it gone down huge today, the next leg up would not be technically probable. But now it is at least possible. Same with the declines in the fall. Had they continued to the 1050 level or lower...we would not be here today.

How can you continue to bash BofA according to the Fed stress test if the market tanks 50% the BLS quits lying and show unemployment at 13% and the housing market continues to drop at the same rate over the last three years BofA increases its Tier 1 capital from 5.7 to 5.9. This clearly shows great leadership at BofA.

Right, but advocate not voting for the only presidential candidate that has, is and will be going after the Fed, the ultimate source that powers the corruption.
