All the people who should be pulling the plug would be pulling the plug on their own power and wealth at the same time, so that plug won't be pulled. Things can get worse than you want to imagine before the end. Look at what happened in the Ukraine in 1932. The USSR didn't fall for another 60 years after that. The comparison between Japan and the US is NOT a good one, for reasons discussed here ad nauseum. It WILL NOT HAPPEN! Japan's total debt to gdp is about 450%-500%. If you guys are right, total debt in the US will have to go to 700% of GDP (currently about 350%) in order to keep things together to 2020+.
