USD is one big joke (unfortunately)and so is the market----more emphasis on getting the market higher though and it's working. Pathetic, disgusting, sickening.....not sure it can be stopped any time soon however I do believe one day the music will slow down if not stop.

Kyle Bass I believe was told that by the Obama administration. As I recall from the interview, the Obama administration was going to increase manufacturing jobs. He asked if that meant decoupling wages from the dollar to achieve that and the Obama administration persons response was in so many words, they were going to trash the dollar to achieve this increase in manufacturing jobs. I don't know if he actually named names at any point.

You know there was some conviction behind the dollar selloff when even the Euro/dollar, which had been under pressure all day, spiked hard.

There was a near parabolic move in precious metals as well.

How many people can continue surviving on .50% interest rates while paying 15% to 29% on their credit cards, $3.50 a gallon for gas and screaming food costs.............................

(Done… The Fed’s assets are comprised of a variety of financial instruments including government bonds, corporate bonds, mortgage-backed securities, etc. On the liabilities side, the Fed holds money in circulation and reserves (money that commercial banks are required to set aside with the Central Bank). By “printing money” ex nihilo (literally out of nothing) money supply increases and the Fed’s liabilities rise. However, the Fed now has the funds to go to the open market and purchase more financial securities from commercial banks, thereby increasing its assets (so that total assets still equals total liabilities). This is the mechanism by which the Fed “expands its balance sheet.” )

3. I will increase the money supply.
(Done… qe1, qe2, qe3, etc! He’s had the printing press running full steam for the last 4 years at least. Numerous secret injections of funny money has been put into the market to keep it from crashing. We bears know this all too well, as the market just refused to crash!)

4. I will buy our countries’ debt.
(Done… the Fed’s have been secretly buying their own bonds and treasury notes for the last year now as China and the rest the world wised up and stopped buying our debt)

5. I will devalue the dollar by 40%.

No problems today, only happy bullish markets advancing on every word Big B blathered. You really have to wonder whether the shell game can be extended to infinity as that is the amount of money available for printing in cyberspace. I am sure at some point this ends badly, but since Ben got serious after the market crash in early 2009, its largely been up up and away...except for bears and those with a rational view of future consequences. But for the foreseeable future, there will never be another "bear market" in nominal terms while Ben is guiding the ship, when in doubt either buy the dip or lose your cash savings! (That is today's lesson).
