Campaign for Liberty email:

Rep. David Simpson, author of the original TSA Anti-Groping bill, has 102 co-sponsors for the Special Session bill HB 41. 18 Texas Senators support Sen. Dan Patrick's Senate version of the bill, SB 29.

Now more than a simple majority of our Texas Representatives and Senators support the Anti-TSA Groping legislation, which means that HB 41 and SB 29 will pass if these bills are brought before the Special Session by Governor Rick Perry. But we must act quickly to tell the Governor the support he has been waiting for is now there—before the Special Session ends. Perry has said that he won't add the bill unless the support is clear. Now we can see there is no excuse, no reason to delay any longer!

Let's keep the pressure on Governor Perry!

Call Governor Rick Perry's office — (512) 463-2000 or (512) 463-1782 — and let him know we have confirmation that 18 Senators now support the Anti-TSA Groping Bill, SB 29. Tell him we have the simple majority that is required to pass the legislation during the Special Session. Ask what we can do to help ensure that HB 41 (formerly HB 1937) and SB 29 make it to the Special Session.

Want to stop the rape-scans and ball-gropes?

Here's your chance - either act now or shut up when the TSA goons squad's hands go down your pants.

I contacted Perry's office at the start of this session. I just contacted them again and let them know I will not vote for him in any future state or national election if he does not bring this to the floor for a vote.

Seems the governor's office's phone lines are a mite busy. Thanks for the update on this; a real challenge to the atrocities of the TSA is actually exciting, being long overdue.

Let's see what happens when a bloated, broke, and hated bureaucracy messes with Texas!

I just called from the anti-liberty state Kalifornia - we've got Brown, Boxer, Feinstein progressive liberals - asking for Perry to stand up to the TSA. Receptionist didn't respond other than "it's noted".

You have my call. I would think Mr. Perry would welcome a chance to back up his talk about state independence. If they shut down the airports, he could have the Texas Rangers escort the IRS, FBI and other US terrorist organizations to the border.

Called. "I've got it noted."

That feels great. My first call to a Senator's office!!!

I had to suffer through these pat-downs on my way back from London... surprisingly enough, London Heathrow was "less secure" than the piddly little Detroid airport I transferred through. I was sure to lift my shirt as high as possible to everyone could see that I wasn't wearing a bomb strapped to my chest - you know, after having just flown half a day across the world and NOW I'm suspected of terrorism. I refused to be scanned so they had to molest me in public.

I was staring at the security camera the entire time.

Call and support!!!

I'd be moved to Texas so fast, I'd start a bunch of tornadoes up in New Mexico. Texas is far from perfect, but actually being the first to call criminal activity by feds by its rightful name is admirable. If they'd just pass their Firearms Freedom Act, I'd even be in a position to start a decent business... ooh, the possibilities. :)

When traveling to Denver this spring, my wife was pulled out of line to go through the scanner. While she was snarling as she put her shoes back on, I overheard a young father next to me telling his adolescent daughter that "it was alright - they're just trying to keep us safe," after she too had to go through the "undress you with its eyes" camera. NO, IT IS NOT OK. IT MAY BE UNAVOIDABLE - LIKE DEATH AND TAXES - BUT IT IS NOT OK. From my perspective, women were scanned more frequently than men. Is that a trend? What the hell are they looking for anyway? STOP IT. STOP IT NOW!

I also called my state rep, Lyle Larson, and found out that he is a co-sponsor of the bill. Which earned him an "atta-boy" of course.

And I called my state senator, Jeff Wentworth. The aide that answered said he didn't know if the Senator was a co-sponsor or not, but that he would give him the message that I think he should. I don't know about all that-there, now. Sounds like the runaround to me.

Texans can look up their state legislators here:

Not a major Perry fan but if he handles this right, his stock will go WAY UP in my book - COULD ALSO springboard him as a R candidate if he runs for prez.

The 10th Amendment is one of the few defining issues that would lead me to vote for someone irrespective of pretty much anything else.

Let's see if he has the balls.

I WILL call today, many thanks for the above information. I'm not a fan of 'Prick Fairy' but might reconsider if he signs this version of the bill. Air travel won't be stalled for long due to the amount of lost revenue to the feral gubbermint, and the military traffic here in TX. Utah is considering essentially the same type of bill as well. Point is we have to take a stand now.

TSA is conducting a tri-state exercise covering 5,000 miles...read it here..

Thanks for calling our attention to this matter Karl. Electronic message sent this morning to Governor Perry. Hopefully a line is drawn in the sand on this matter. Otherwise, we all know what is coming the next time someone places explosives up their a**.

One thing that I've noted to the folks I've called in regards to the TSA's "banning flights" threat - flights from dozens and dozen of countries who do not have these draconian policies fly into the US airports every day. For the TSA to claim that if TX passes this law and suddenly the TX flights are "unsafe," the TSA would have to also ban incoming flights from nations who do not use TSA recommended screening. Otherwise, the TSA action would simply be retalitory.

Does anyone have any updates on this? I've called and emailed basically saying "Get this signed and we'll support you nationally. Fail to do so, and we won't."

If he can't defend the rights of his citizens in Texas, I won't trust him to defend mine either.

I couldn't get through by fax, but emailed earlier today and told Gov Perry that if there is no time of the Texas state legislature to consider this, there is no time for me to buy groceries at Whole Foods, shop at J.C. Penney, or buy a computer at Dell, much less buy tickets from Continental or Southwest Airlines.

I then noted that my state assembly rep has authored legislation on toxic ingredients in baby bottles and is also on a state tourism committee (this is California). I then emailed her, submitted to her an excerpt of what I had written to Gov Perry, and reminded her that most cancers are seeded during childhood, a time of rapid cell proliferation and division; that if she is concerned about toxins in baby bottles she ought to be concerned about children getting radiated at the airport, and asked why TSA's aggressive overreaching practices are not on the California legislative agenda.

Then I emailed a friend of mine, who happened to run against this state rep and lost (the state rep is a puppet for trial lawyers and lobbyists); and I told him that other state legislatures were making this an issue, and there is no reason why California cannot - with the implication that he is not likely to get further help from me if he decides to run against her again, which he is gearing up to do.

I also wrote to Texas rep David Simpson thanking him for his efforts.

Yet another thing that was all for naught. Is even Texas filled with a bunch of pansy-asses? Will no elected official stand up for our rights or our Constitution?

Someone once told me that when I couldn't take it anymore, I was to grab my rifle and run outside. If I was the only one out there with a rifle, then it wasn't yet time, and to go back inside and wait. I just keep getting the feeling that any potential waiting time left is getting shorter and shorter.
