Went to TickerCon 3 because QE is winning! Duh.

I thought it was because QE3 is all but guaranteed so we go to TickerCon 3. When we're at QE4 = TickerCon 4. Once we pass QE5, the top of the TickerCon meter will show a pic of the Skittle ****ting Unicorn....since obviously nothing can go wrong from there....free skittles and cash for everyone...

while the Market Ticker show tickercon 3? (right side)

With the move the DX and gold/silver made today--I was stunned too that it changed..

I can understand Karl wanting to keep the initial change reasoning to Gold subs. But a post-mortem some time later would be appreciated.

what would be good (IMO of course) is a sliding scale where the highlight box moves over the numbers. then everyone can get excited over pixel changes in the box position, argue over if it's even moved and generally be more fun. (this is meant to be fun, right?) I could do it in flash builder if KD setup tomcat and wrote the Java bit to connect to his postgres database I'd do the flash bit, a simple sql query to update the value and hey presto the box is movin without a website update.

I find it relaxing to see the tickercon lights flickering in the edge of my vision...

Heh yeah you could have a "negative outlook" or "positive outlook" indication with the lamp behind the next expected tickercon level flickering dimly like it's trying to light up.

I'm not convinced we know where all the "bang-bangs" are around the radical muslim world.

Prudence states that one be ready for the really awful, so Tickercon has been moved to "1" for a few days; probably until the end of the week or so.

Wise decision. Even without the "bang bang" threat, OBL being killed *MUST* be a major trigger for action. There's no way it couldn't be.

I expect to see **** starting this week, possibly tomorrow.

Just on time - Greece was the reason it got dropped, and while it's not fixed, it also doesn't look like it's going to blow NOW.

Remaining at "1" for longer than a week or two is unreasonable in terms of preparatory stance. "2" is more appropriate and can be maintained pretty much indefinitely.

Hmmmm, all things considered atm (Italy, Greece, US debt ceiling, etc.) could we be seeing that "1" light coming on again soon? It does appear to be a bit brighter than last week...
