Anyone have a list of the crap they've thrown at Obama that hasn't stuck? The birth certificate, the religion, the associates, the schooling. Desperate measures.
Latest is that his Kenyan half-aunt ignored a deportation order and is living in public housing in MA. You think that's going to affect his executive decision making?

If "60 Minutes" and the NYT were to run honest pieces regarding Obama's promotion by William Ayers and other paleo-commies, he'd be at 15% right now regardless of McCain's vote on the bail-out (of which Obama was too ****ing chicken to phone in his take) or whether McCain and Palin were caught in a three-way with a goat posted to YouTube.

@ Gen, Your signature line says: Quote:Vote AGAINST anyone who votes for this crap bailout But in a previous Ticker you said you were going to vote for Obama, as the worst of the two major candidates, to "bring it on", even though he voted for the bailout (as did McCain). Since as this Ticker points out, Obama has a practical lock on the election, I would like to advocate a different voting strategy: vote for the third party candidate closest to your ideals instead. In this way you can vote against the candidates that voted for the bailout as your signature line suggests, and register your displeasure with the policies that as you point out have been brought about by elements of both the Democrats and the Republicans. And, down the road, you can have the knowledge that you did not lend support to the President who undoubtedly is going to steer our nation further down the road to ruin.

Mike, the media tried their darndest to take down Bush in 00 and 04 and failed. Now much more of the media exists on the web than then so I don't give the media much credit in this election. Somehow someway intrade has Obama at 85%, Gen is already calling the election. Maybe people are agreeing with Obama's politics and leadership over McCain. The smear is not sticking.

BillB, are you buying Obama puts while they're dirt cheap? (I have no doubt you can do that various places.) ==//== A contrarian view: http://www.kayak2u.com/blog/?p=467"... One week out: Prediction McCain is going to take it, and fairly easily. There will be rioting, not by the alleged victims-of-legacy-racism-minorities as some might expect (I think sufficient numbers of black Americans see through the current forest of race-baiting bull**** at least as well as anyone), but by the utterly insane Bush-deranged wannabe-commies white people who will finally flip completely out of their skulls and go on scattered and pathetic rampages. Seriously. Why? I think that ol’ silent majority is gonna kick it in the pants. The ugliness, the record decibel level of screaming gibberish of the current cycle, encouraged, ghost-written, and amplified by the press, can be traced largely to the nutcase side of things: the screaming socialists, the America-haters, the moron Hollywood "elites", Keith Olbermann, and the frothing hordes of the lefty internet world. People see that. They know what it is. They’re appalled, and rightfully so. You don’t see ‘em on the evening news saying how appalled they are, but they’ll go behind the curtain and clicky clicky or scribble scribble or punch punch punch and it won’t be for the untested, vague, increasingly marxist-looking craziness of it all. Sweet Cheeks thinks I’m crazy. Mebbe so, but in this environment, being crazy might be better than being wrong. Whatever...."

With the 2000 FL recount and the 2004 OH scam, anything is possible, especially if you include the Diebold false counts that are likely to happen in numerous jurisdictions. The following is just a sample: A report released by Princeton University claims an electronic voting machine used in New Jersey can be hacked in 7 minutes. Sequoia, the company that makes the machines, denies the report's conclusions. Still, the Princeton report is a reminder that, sometimes, it's nice to have a set of human eyes go over data. http://www.eweek.com/c/a/Security/Prince....

The map has Utah as red. I find that hard to believe. I was in Salt Lake City recently and saw a sea of Obama signs. They were everywhere. We drove all over the city for two days and saw only ONE McCain sign - and we were looking for them!

Pd, yeah, in Anchorage recently (before his conviction) I saw Stevens signs at a roughly 5-to-1 or maybe as much as 10-to-1 ratio to his opponent for his Senate seat. But polls at the time suggested that Stevens was only slightly ahead (again, before the conviction).
Sign ratios indicate enthusiasm but I doubt they're a good predictor for vote ratios. Lots of signs = supporters enthusiastic, few signs = supporters dispirited. But supporters are supporters, dispirited or not, and if they vote for their team it doesn't matter whether they had a sign on their lawn or not.

Quote:were I a bookmaker I'd give you 20:1 odds against. Well, you can bet on the election, at the Iowa Electronic Markets: http://iemweb.biz.uiowa.edu/quotes/Pres0....Current price is Obama 0.832, McCain 0.167, so they have the odds at only 6:1.

Voltac - give it up on the Florida recount. Bush won because some idiot democrat screwed up the ballot and then a bunch of old idiot New York transplants couldn't figure it out. Luck of the draw. Bush has not been as bad a president as people make him out to be. Do you think anything different would have been done in the financial markets with Gore or Kerry? We'd be in the same mess.
What was Bush's one mandate when we were attacked. Protect us from another terrorist attack, I dont think anyone bothers to thank him for doing that. Not that he is responsible for that either but if you're going to blame him for everything else give him credit for that.
It isn't some *******n conspiracy to keep the Dem's out of the White House. **** they're all crooked. But just look out for what you're wishing for here in change with Obama. He's a Chicago Democrat and I guarantee you he owes a whole lotta favors. Your only chance here is McCain because he doesn't always play by the rules. His problem is he's dumber than **** on the bailout and putting a floor under housing prices. You can either lower the house prices or raise incomes. And I don't know how to raise incomes without people working harder and being more productive.
There how was my Photoguy rant. God help us all. Change won't come until a million people grab pitchforks and surround the Capital building and demand their resignation in mass.

"Bush has not been as bad a president as people make him out to be."
Hard not to think that that statement alone negates everything that comes after it.
Except this: "God help us all. Change won't come until a million people grab pitchforks and surround the Capital building and demand their resignation in mass."
On that we can agree.

I believe even Indiana's 11 votes have now been moved into the toss-up category.
The puts McCain even further into skewered aged meat pot-roast territory.
